Christmas Gifts for Hunters: A Guide That Is Not Just Another Knife

Hunters are hard to shop for because the good stuff is expensive and specific, and the cheap stuff is a knife he already has four of. He has four knives. Everyone buys him knives.

Buy what he burns through

Every hunter runs out of the same things and never stocks up properly. Scent control spray, hand warmers, game bags, calls, quality socks. None of it is exciting to unwrap and all of it gets used within weeks.

Wool socks in particular. Nobody buys themselves good wool socks and everybody wishes they had more.

Buy what he refuses to replace

This is where you win. Hunters use gear well past its useful life because replacing it feels frivolous mid season. Look at his gloves, his pack, his seat cushion, his headlamp. Whatever looks oldest is probably what he has been meaning to replace for three seasons.

Skip the big technical purchases

Optics, calls he has strong opinions about, boots, anything sized to his body. Too personal, too expensive to get wrong.

The off season gift

Hunting is a few months. The other eight, he is still a hunter, he just is not hunting. Apparel he can wear year round tends to get far more use than anything camo.

Our hunting humor designs work for this, and they do not read as costume in a grocery store the way full camo does. If he is tall, check XLT sizing rather than just buying a larger number.

The one thing most people forget

Time. A day at the range, a guided trip, or covering his tags and licenses for the season. Hunters spend a lot of their own money on access and almost nobody gifts it.

See what sells most.
